Brian Mayes is proud that he used ward funds to invest in all seven Louis Riel School Division high schools during the 2019-2022 term  High school projects include:

  • Dakota Collegiate (new tennis courts, cricket batting cage upgrade)
     

  • Glenlawn Collegiate (grant for new flooring in fitness centre, $275,000 basketball court project underway to mark the 100th anniversary in 2023)
     

  • Nelson Mac (grant to develop plan for new outdoor sports area)
     

  • College Jeanne Sauve (city invested $500,000 in new community theatre space)

  • Windsor Park (funded new outdoor meeting tables for students) 

  • JH Bruns (funded new phys ed play equipment during Covid-19)

  • College Beliveau (split cost to rebuild outdoor basketball court with Audrey Gordon, MLA)

    Brian also invested in projects at every k-8 school in St Vital ward  this past term as wel as schools outside of the ward where there are lots of St Vital children attending).  These projects include:

  • St George School (upgraded basketball court and new family meeting centre)

  • Victor Mager School (new 400 metre outdoor running track)

  • Hastings/MAG (rebuilt the outdoor walking path, and outdoor skating rink)

  • Minnetonka, Windsor and Lavalee (rebuilt basketball courts)

  • Darwin (repaired beach volleyball court)

  • Penner (new play structure in park in front of school)

  • Vic Wyatt (new play structure in conjunction with provincial govt)

  • Varennes (cost shared outdoor classroom)

  • HS Paul (new play structure)

  • Guyot (new play area bench)

  • Ecole Sage Creek School (snowshoeing equipment) 

  • Glenwood (new materials for family centre)
